This is such a generous offer bud! I would have taken you up on it last week if you, Glenn, and the rest of the guys hadn't taught me how to do it properly myself.

    Bud,
    You are so very generous.
I have a Boker that needs some love.
It would be the first sharp razor that I have the joy of owning.
    Would you mind?

    Brock

The only razor I have that needs a hone probably wouldn't take one. It's a Selective Professional, and those are on the do not buy list (bought it before I found SRP). I've got a double arrow in the mail from ruprazor.com, so I'll have a good sharp razor soon enough. I'm just tired of shaving with that really sharp pocket knife in straight razor's clothing (still less irritation than my cartridge razor or I wouldn't do it).

Wow, such a generous offer... I love this community! I have a nice ERN Crown & Sword I got on ebay that could really use a sharpening, if you're willing - I don't have my own set of hones yet. My email is 7ms17@queensu.ca. Thanks!

I've been meaning to make a similar offer, so I will ride on coat tails. If someone beyond the three in this offer wanted to take him up on his offer but were not quick enough to respond, I will serve as the consolation prize. I will hone three more razors for three other members. Please PM me to arrange it.

    Utopian,

Well, this certainly isn't my intended first posting, but I felt I had to seize upon the opportunity offered.

I have been working my way into straights for a few weeks now. I have bought four razors as a "first" razor with the intention of having it restored or just sharpened if that is all that's needed. I bought a Boker "Red Injun", A Duble Duck "Satinedge" (roughest of the four, and not really all that rough, to my untrained eye), a Geneva "Special A" and a Genco "Henrys".

Thank-you for the generous offer, and if I am in the running, tell me which would be best for a "starter".

I have spoken to Mr. Miller about strops and we have one planned. I have bought Mr. Ellis' CD on Sharpening and restoration and I plan on ordering Lyn's dvd on straights also.

    Thanks,

    Kev

Either the Red Injun or the SatinEdge would be my recommendations if you want me to hone them. I have honed a few of both of those razors and have found them to be great shavers and certainly within my capacity to hone. I have not had much luck with Geneva razors. I think I've honed maybe 5 of them and had trouble getting an edge I was satisfied with for each and every one of them. I've only honed a couple Genco razors and am not familar with the Henrys model.
