Default Carbon steel and Silver steel blades

    Howdy,

I would like to understand the differance between carbon and silver steel blades if there is any. I shave with a TI and it is carbon steel blade, shaves very nice and I have read about carbon being the best for straights, but hard to hone...

    Will,

I think "silver" steel is more of a name. Not sure if there is actually any/more silver in it. Pretty much the only options for razors is carbon steel or stainless steel.?

Silver steel is carbon steel, specifically a high carbon steel that meets BS-1407. There is no silver involved, the name comes from the bright apperance of the steel (common to all high carbon steels).
