I got two or three of those when I first started out too!

Light touch, keep the razor moving, and the angle very shallow.

I did that *exact* same mark on my first XTG pass I attempted with a straight. Like you, I had no idea that I'd done it until my wife brought it to my attention.

I got one like that a week ago, but it was a little deeper and shed 2 or 3 drops of blood. I didnt pause, but it was at the last spot of the shave and the cream I was trying out had dried up significantly. I was thinking to myself "that feels a bit rough" and then it happened. I just lathered on top of it and shaved in the other direction and put a few drop of hydrogen peroxide on it. A week later no mark whatsoever is left.

I've gotten a looong slice on my face before much like you have there....It didn't even hurt when I did it! You must've done a slight slicing motion for a second, causing that. If it didn't hurt or bleed, at least you know you have a really sharp razor on your hands!

Just be careful and I'm sure you'll do fine next time. We have these slip-ups every once in a while....

I get that every now and then. When you come in make sure the blade contacts at an angle rather than perpendicular to your face. I get it when I am bringing the blade to my face and not paying attention. In fact, I get it the exact same place.

You thought about it ! Be honest. You pictured that cut in your mind before it happened. No?
