    Default Wipe or rinse?

    ...not your ass, but the razor! When you're shaving with a straight do you wipe or rinse when the blade is full of soap?

    Rinse, hot water. Wipe with a clean, dry towel when I'm finished shaving.

    I think this topic would warrant a poll.

    Wipe. Never forget the day I dinged my mint Puma on the tap.

    On the other topic, when in Australia I wipe when in Japan I rinse.(best toilets in the world.)

    Both. Learned the hard way to have the spine facing the faucet. Then wipe with the towel. One side benefit to having the hot water touch the blade is that it warms the blade. Oh yeah, then I can feel the love...

    Rinse for both. It just feels cleaner. But when I go back to Oz I will have to get used to whiping again.

    Old Oz saying for saving water:

    If it's brown flush it down;
    If it's yellow let it mellow;
    If it's white, give it a wipe.

    During my shave I wipe the lather off the razor, then I only rine it at the end. I'm still pretty new and I am kinda worried I will tap the faucet or something, so I don't want to rise a lot.

    I always rinse and so far have remembered to keep the spine facing the faucet just in case I get my razor to close to it.
    I like the fact that the water keeps the blade warm to the touch on my face.

    Hot water rinse, then dry with towel without touching the edge, then "strop" it dry on the towel.

    I had though of strating a thread like this but with a poll. I often wonder about the same thing.
    I always wipe the blade. It's not only a way of saving water, but also a way of saving a blade from getting nicked by a less precise motion. And in the balttle between a razor and a tap... the tap wins! It has also become sort of a ritual. It's part of my shaving routine and it's my way of doing it.

    I vote wipe! Plus, you get to see the wiskers you shaved! It's messy, though...
