The damage hydrogen peroxide does to tissue is very small (at least in the over the counter 3% stuff). Peroxide more than makes up for this by being an effective antibacterial so the wound heals up cleanly with no scarring in a similar fashion to Neosporin. Plus H2O2 creates an oxygen rich environment which is the only thing besides your immune system that kills viruses (i.e. viruses can't live in oxygen vary long).

Not trying to step on anyone's toes I just happen to have a lot of knowledge on the subject (and since I don't have a lot of knowledge about straight razors yet I haven't had much of a chance to post).

Thanks for the info. I don't recal where I heard it was a bad idea to use H202 on wounds...maybe I'll start keeping some around!
This place is a pretty mature environment (usually) about such things. Sharing your knowledge (or even opinions) will very rarely be seen as stepping on toes.

Thanks for the additional info. I'm talking about the 3% stuff just to be clear. We get it in pharmacies here in Europe. Costs close to nothing. 3 or so EUR a small bottle. No scars here, and it stops the bleeding immediately.
