    Default Question Re Use of Alum Block

    I was wondering if alum was related to the mineral aluminum. If so would there be any concern regarding any hazards of it's use? For example some authorities recommend against the use of aluminum products in deodorants and aluminum cookware.

    this topic has been kicked around before, I can't seem to find the link

    Anyhow, unless you ingest LARGE quantities of it, it has no adverse effects. They used to think it was correlated with Alzheimer's, but that has been debunked.

    I wouldn't grate it up and put it on a salad, but for your face (and antiperspirants) it will be fine.
