    Default "Presharpened"...?

So, like the poster before me, I had a very Merry DOVO Christmas. I made sure that the giver of this gift got the razor from classicshaving.com, and got one that was listed as presharpened. My question: does the "presharpening" that classicshaving.com offers bring the razor to my christmas tree in "shave ready" condition, such that all i need to do is strop and shave? or should I hone it first (she also got me a Norton 4k/8k stone)? or was it a total waste of 15 bucks? any enlightenment would be appreciated.

Welcome to SRP. If you haven't read this already it would be good to take a look at it. Before you get started you might want to check out a shaving video here. Enjoy your shave and
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Dang, somebody did their homework taking care of you! KUDOS to them. A Norton 4000/8000 no less! Don’t touch that stone with your new razor, enjoy it as is for quite some time, except for stropping. Stropping needs to happen every time before you shave except the first time – the people who did the pre-sharpening service will have done that for the first shave. Get yourself an inexpensive vintage blade on Ebay if you want to learn how to hone, work towards getting it to feel like the Dovo. You are in good shape all the way around. Enjoy!

Thanks for all the feedback! She really did do her homework...with some help from me . But I'm not planning on even storing that stone and blade in the same room for some months lol. And since you all have mentioned it, I won't strop before the first shave. I've watched Lynn's youtube videos on buying vintage razors from ebay, and I've already kinda caught the "itis". Def gonna pick something up from there before I try on the DOVO.

    Thanks for the help again!
