I was just trying to make sure you had the right information. They're great guys, I bought a Dovo Renaissance and a DMT 8000 from them a few months ago. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

    Good day,

Too funny, well wish her luck then, I thought looking for size 12 was hard enough, it's always out of stock!

Thanks for all the help guys, this site rocks. I have to go help a friend for a couple of hours but would love some more feed back especially with the strops and brushes or even a razor I may have over looked. Keep em coming

My mom gets me shakespeare related books every year, and I haven't read shakespeare in 15 years. She used to get me the same cardigan sweater every year, but I finally got my dad to understand that I don't wear sweaters. I keep waiting for them to ask me if there are "any shaving items we can get you" but they just don't. I don't get it. It's a perfect hobby for XMas presents - there is something for every price range, and I'm just hankering for a Shapton 4k, but they don't ask. Alas. I'm a parent now, so I'm sure I'll understand this stuff eventually.

Welcome to SRP. Sounds like a very nice present.
The srop from knifecenter is very well regarded, hopefully you don't end up paying another $30 in tax and brokerage fees for it, but the only way to avoid that is to get a strop from vintageblades.
As far as the brush goes, the one you've picked up should do the job, and the price is not bad. If you ask for recommendations for a better brush, I'd take VintageBladesLLC::... (seems like the ebony version is out of stock).
I actually haven't had rooney super, but I have finest which I use 95% of the time. But the rooney will cost you twice as much as the EJ, so it may not be an option.
You may want to give a call to vintageblades and see what jim would say. People who've talked to him say he's very helpful.

I love the way those scales look, you are indeed a fantastic mom. My mom gets me things like luggage, cooking pot, weird jackets (seriously, who wants a dark green leather trench coat? I mean really, is it any wonder I didn't enjoy high school more?)

Thanks, I seriously can't wait to give it to him. This could be an addictive habit, now I'm off to find some good soaps.
