    Default HORSTATOR SOLINGEN

    Hello Every one,

I am new to all of this, I have just been given a new razor made by (HORSTATOR SOLINGEN) from Germany, i haven't stated to shave with it yet, because it has to be honed and also I am waiting for the rest of the stuff I ordered to arrive, hone, strop, brush etc...

So basically i would like to know about the razor i have been given, is it good to start with ?
a little history would be nice also because i can't find the maker of this blade.

i have attached a photo of the razor.

    Many Thanks

    Ciao

Horstator straights are very good razors. I have also a littel 5/8 stainless straight razor from this brand in my personal stock - my travel razor
I think yours is from carbon steel. If it is shave ready you have a exellent hardware for an good shave. If not, it will be easy to hone it to this sharpness. I dont know what you paid for it, but it is definitely a good choice.
