    Default Greetings frum a Newbie

Hi everyone, I was surprised to see a straight razor shaving place like this one a few weeks back, so here goes with my "first contact" with fellow straight bladers. Been shaving with straights for over 5 years straight now, don't use anything else. My weapons arsenal- 3X 1920s Merkur straights-4/8, 5/8, and a wee mustacher, 2x excellent Thiers Issard -1937 Special, and Petit Francais, 1 dovo bone, 1 meatchopper Wade anb Butch, 1 excellent (and dangerous) Robeson SureEdge hammer marked. Severely lacking in the brush dept. been using 1 Kingston for 8 years, 1 excellent Caswell 4 years, in the market for an upgrade there.

I make knives as a hobby, most fellow knife collectors think I'm out of my mind with the cut throat shaving, so I hope signing on here will find me good company! (grin)

    Best,

    thewap aka Marc

    Smile Welcome, Marc

It's good to have you here. There are certainly other knife makers aboard for you to connect with and lots of opinions about what brush you should buy too.

    Hi Marc!

Welcome to the fold of straight weilding lads and lasses, I'm sure everything you need to know will be found across the forums here.

I have an awesome hand made Silver Tip brush, it is THE BEST in my opinion, but hey, I've only been straight shaving since July. It's great to have you here so dive right on in, the water is lovely............
