    Default Intro and what razor to buy?

    Hi,

    I'm a noob here and looking to buy a 'starter' razor to get back into shaving with a straight.

    Not entirely new to this since I was using a straight razor about twenty years ago. Hopefully I will pick up the knack of shaving with one of these again reasonably quickly.

    As I recall, shaving was reasonably easy. I had a Henckels stainless (no idea what size) and only ever stropped on the palm of my hand. Perhaps this will be my chance to do it right

    Unfortunately I can't find my Henckels, so I'm looking to buy a razor. A couple of razors listed on this site look nice to me and are affordable;

    6/8 H boker& co.

    Osgar Regd 862 3/4 - 6/8 - Bubinga Wood

    Question: Is one of these better than the other for someone who is relatively new to this?

    Ed

    I don't think you would go wrong with either of them.

    Smile Welcome, Ferrero

    The Boker should be a sure bet.

    I haven't seen a boker I didn't like yet, and i'm not familiar with the oscar, but I like quite a bit more the looks of the second one. I think either would be a good choice.
    I'd ask max about his razor

    Agreed. I'd go with the Boker.

    You can't go wrong with Boker. I love mine.
