Do NOT try to strop it out. You will likely just put scratches in your brand new strop.

Seriously consider yourself lucky. When I was reading what happened, I was picturing an inch of your blade missing. Your damage is about as minimal as you could have hoped for. BTW, I never put my razor into the sink. I wipe the lather off with my fingers and then rinse my finger in the sink. I haven't dinged a finger yet!

buffalo you say... i think there is a meet-up happening around there in a week or so.. find it, attend and somebody might be able to teach you how to fix it yourself... right there...

accomplishes two things, you learn to hone and you meet people who share your interests

the only downside is that it is a week away but sending it out will take that long at least
    Be just and fear not.

I'm kind of nervous now about rinsing the blade off under the sink & setting my blade down on the sink...

Would it be best to have a small bathroom towel to wipe the blade off and lay the blade on if I need to?
I would assume wiping the blade off with a towel really couldn't hurt anything (if you are wiping from the spine down towards the blade and avoid the blade.

I usualy have a towel laid across the counter, covering the sink, using the towel on the counter or the one I am wrapped in to wipe the blade.

If you don't get this edge repaired before our meet bring it with you. One of us will fix it up for you. It would be a good demo.
