    Unhappy Help in San Francisco

After having my razor honed by Straight Razor Designs (great job BTW), and a successful second shave, I tried my hand at stropping my razor; it didn’t go so well. I learned that stropping is all technique. No amount of reading can replace experience, which is why I am reaching out to the community. I would love to meet up with someone who is experienced so that I may ask questions and help guide me through these awkward times, possibly even look at my razor and see if it needs to be honed after my botched stropping attempt.

I live in San Francisco near Dolores Park, if you are willing to help me out I can be reached at:

    J1123581321@gmail.com

    Thank you in advance,

    Jay

Welcome to SRP Jay. You've come to the right place my friend. See if you can make it to our Northern California SRP Meet this Saturday in Menlo Park. You can read about it here:
    http://straightrazorpalace.com/get-t...rnia-meet.html

There are going to be a few experts there that can help get you (and myself too) started with the right habits.

Yup, bring your razor and your strop. Someone will be able to evaluate both the razor's condition and your stropping technique. Maybe someone will even be able to hone out any stropping damage you might have done to the razor.

Also for sure worth checking out, and keeping an eye on for more and more info, is the Wiki. It's becoming very useful thanks to some local saints <g>

    Jay,
I'm over in the mission quite a bit, though I am temporarily living in El Cerrito. I'm not an expert hone meister, but canpossibly help rescue your edge and with your technique.
l'll be available this weekend to drop by.
