Thread: Friend Who Wants to Start

Hi everyone....I started shaving with a straight razor quite a while ago. My best friend wants to start as well, but he is a poor college student. Would any of you be able to make me some cheap reccomendations for me to pass along to him to get him started. He wants to purchase an adequate blade and strop and needs some guidance. If any of you have anything available that would be good for a newbie and would be able to pass on for cheap I could pass that info along to him too. He currently has a brush, soap, and a scuttle dish. He just needs the strop and blade. Any help would be great.

Check the classifieds and PM user Kenrup who is a good source of reasonably-priced starter kits including a strop and Double Arrow or Wapienica razor.

+1 on the wapi idea. They are excellent value for money. Good for starters, gives a good shave and not too pricey.
