    Default Another newb...

    Gentlemen,

I was wondering which blade should I get for a first timer with straight razors. I've went through the stickies and have been doing a DE for about a couple months now.

I'm trying to get something that is truely shave ready however I'm only budgeted for around 40-50 bucks...

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Schone, I got mine today out in the classifieds here. I have seen several that were list as good for a first razor, and generally go for $50 or less. I didn't chrish the idea of spending $100 or more as my first in case I truly screw something up. The only thing I still need to purchase is a strop. There is a great thread in newbie section on equipment/tools you will need.

+1 to checking the classifieds. There is also member here, Kenrup, who sells starter kits with a presharpened Wapienica or Double Arrow razor and strop in your price range. Both are excellent razors at a reasonable price. You can send him a PM.

Welcome to SRP! There's already some good advice here - looking in "The Classifieds" is a great idea for finding an affordable, shave ready razor, and checking with some of the vendors here - such as Kenrup - for a packaged new shaver deal is great as well.

Enjoy the site (and the resultant shaves!)
