I think what gugi is trying to get accross is that not only do you get a fairer price for your razor in our classifieds section, you also get a more genuine and accurate description of what you buy. Both these things are for the same reason: in a straight razor community people know what to expect, they know what they are talking about and they value reputation and integrity in the sale. Whilst I do buy from eBay I dont like the annonymity that is risked in such sales. You'll see that people are much more likely to buy in the classifieds here from long term members because reputation matters.

yeah, sandy explained it well. you only know about the problems because people here know what they are talking about and are honest. on ebay you should assume that you will likely get these problems and worse and find out only when the razors arrive. we've all been on ebay for a while and that's how it is.
i'm not trying to be mean or anything, just sharing what i've learned from my experience - i've tossed many a razor and have several razors like your genco that i'm just not sure what to do with.

I've bought quite a few razors on E-bay.. But my best finds have been by searching all the antique shops in my and other areas.. you get to see the razor first hand.. determine if it is worth the buy and you can (in most cases) find GREAT prices on them.
