    Default good fortune/local barber

hey all, am definitely at the point where I need to finish the 9 part series and buy some hones. got about 20 razors now (some are just blades to play with) and only the two shave ready. I prefer to see it in person though.

it struck me thursday to call a local knife maker that also happens to be a barber. I asked first if he made razors, no. asked if he knew how to sharpen them, yes he's been using them for 40 years and he'll show me how. (he said just go get a stone at sporting goods store or something, but I'll get a good one, norton?) I also asked if he still does straight razor shaves, he said yes. only 8 bucks!!!!! definitely know what I'm doing this coming saturday!!!!!!!

Wow, $8 for a shave with a straight is an amazing price. That's certainly worth doing now and then for the relaxing experience.

Proper straight razor shave is harder to find these days.

I remember years ago there was online directory of where one could go for a straight razor shave. Of course, quality may vary from place to place too...
