Thread: Rookie looking for expert honing in CA

I've spent several weeks reading the forums before receiving a Dovo as a wedding gift from my lovely bride. I then spent another week ordering an extra-wide Dovo strop, and a Norton 4000/8000. After following the advice here (or so I thought), I attempted a hone. I realize now that I need it professionally done, at least the first time.

Anyone out there in California who would like to help a rookie? Thanks.

Mike Ratliff TheWellHonedRazor.com has honed 3 of my razors and done a beautiful job, and he is in CA.

don't know about anyone else, but shipping is shipping, is shipping so it may not really matter who you send it too. I sent my other blades to lynn, and that was a super sharp blade.

You must've missed the NOT part no worries, the razor will be fine. David (heavydutysg135) is at the other end of CA. You want to PM and check, sometimes people get busy and can't do a quick turnaround.

I'm not sure if he'd do it (since he doesn't advertise a honing service), but BlackStangAl puts great edges on razors. I've gotten about 6 or so razors from him and all have been great. One is still in my rotation and one of my best shaves ever.
