Default A Weeks worth of Str8 Shaving.

Well I have been at this for a good week now, I have to say, each new shave I have better control of the razor, I started out, with almost all WTG strokes, very careful very deliberate strokes.
Then as I got better, or more confident I added little things like how to touch up around the adam's apple, XTG, today, I did almost my whole face on ATG on my last pass.
I am pretty excited that I didn't draw blood on any of my passes today.

Generally when I shave, either with a Str8 or a DE razor, I do at least 3 passes, I get great shaves, very comfortable, I try to make each one a learning experience for me, a little trial and error stuff, or a different stroke anything to get the perfect shave, so I think by taking this approach I am able to learn quickly.

Currently, I am test driving each of my str8 razors to check if they are truly shave ready. I already have my favorites...But it is fun to get a feel how each blade is a little different. I am no way an expert, or even anyone who would be considered a voice of experience... But from a very green novice POV...This is what I have noticed thus far.

What I found out that works wonders for the face is after shaving, I use an Alum bar...It stings a little, but, man...It really makes a difference on how my face feels...It is either that, or I am just getting better at shaving, and applying little pressure.

My wife, who thought I was crazy, for going from the disposable razors, to DE, now to Str8 razor shaving, Loves to watch me shave, and she loves how great of a shave I get. I think she is thinking...What a Man...a real man.. LOL..
What ever she thinks, it is great to have her support.
