    Default im a newbie

    Hi guys,
    im new to straight razor. Last days i washed my straight razor after my shave, i let dry and closed it. The day after i opened it to use it and something has appeared on the edge i dont know if its rust but it dont wanna disappear, i tried to wash it with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol but it dont wanna go, the problem is that i don't wanna broke my razor blade, can u help me by telling me how i can wash it without broking it would be appreciate. Tnx a lot

    It's probably just a bit of water staining, try using a pencil eraser on it - if that doesn't work, you can resort to using a mild steel polish like MAAS (search SRP to find other uses for MAAS).

    As for keeping it clean after use, I use something called Cool Care Plus - it's made for clippers but can be used on straight razors and is available at beauty supply stores.

    Welcome to SRP.
    Some steels stain more easily than others. If it's an issue a light oiling after use
    might be worth the trouble.
