Thumbs up First shave with a str8

First of all, let me thank all of you for your posts and SRP for providing such a wonderful cyber-place for "maniacs" like us. Secondly, I would also like to thank LX_Emergency for the great honing job he did for me.

And now to the shave. After the proper prep and some stropping - 20 laps on the smoother skin side - I was ready to go. I lathered up like normally - I have been shaving with vintage Gillette DEs since Christmas -, took the razor and a deep breath. I had some difficulties stretching the skin and holding the razor properly, mainly 'cause I have got glasses and they seemed to get in the way and block the view. I tried to keep the proper angle and a very light touch.
It all went pretty well. I even tried to use my left hand, but had to switch after a while for getting too nervous. I had a four day stubble and could pretty easily tell when the angle was not correct. I only shaved both sides of my face and finished the rest - chin, neck, moustache area - with my #58. The result was satisfying: 2 light red lines and a deeper one near the jaw line - all on the left side. It happened when I was not paying attention or when I lost sight of my hand. I got a pretty close shave, as if I had shaved with my Gillette 10-12 hours before, but the stubble felt much finer.

To sum it all up, I am very happy and looking forward to my next shave and this new kind of exciting exploration!
