    I use a straight and a DE and have also come to realize that the DE leaves a much sharper stubble than the straight does. I rarely get any cuts or burn with the straight and most certainly do most times with the DE. I am either using the DE incorrectly or the less sharp straight (if it is) is kinder to my face.

    Some DE blades are sharper than some straights, and some straights are sharper than some DE blades. So maybe one can never be exactly as sharp, but can be more or less so

    Another question to ask is, "Why would you ever throw away a DE razorblade?" Answer: Because it dulls and is not worth resharpening
