    Default Opinions please!

I completed my first shave with my new Blackstar Dovo, beautiful razor, From Vintage (excellent service, highly recommend anyone wanting a Dovo check Jim site out).
I did purchase the pre-honed razor option, but found the razor to pull and tug on my hair when shaving. I did not have any nicks/cuts/or severe irritation which was a positive sign.
Format prior was shower/pre-shave cream/Forbes Cream. Is this incorrect blade angle, or is their a period as they say where your face has to become accustomed to the razor.
I have been using the Feather Dx, with Proguard blades and had wonderful smooth shaves.

    Any thoughts, or recommendations?

I would tend to think that may be the angle or pressure you are using. It could also be a stropping issue if you stropped too fast or at all. Did you strop before shaving? I think that even a shave ready razor can benefit from stropping. That might be it, if you did strop and you possibly had too much pressure, or possibly didn't have the razor flat on the strop that could dull the razor slightly as well. I would reccomend using an alum block after shaving for a while until you get used to a straight. That's just a suggestion though. I am still fairly new as well and occassionally I get burned a little although it is getting fewer and farther between. Good luck and good shaving
