Default Pulled Trigger On My First Str8

I've been asking for advice and direction of those with experience on the forum and have finally pulled the trigger on my very first str8.

Here it is Thiers-Issard "Evide Sonnant Extra" Black, 5/8 . I considered the 6/8 but thought the 5/8 would be a good starting point, not too big!

Anyway, it's off to Lynn for honing before making it's way across the pond to me. I'm sure he'll do a wonderful job on it for me, especially if I say PLEASE nicely .

I hope those in the know approve of my choice?

I did look at vintage pre-honed models in the UK, but to be honest this razor will only cost about £10 more than a nice looking vintage one, and I'll feel happy knowing that I have been its only keeper.

I think turn around for honing is about 4 weeks, which means I won't get my first str8 shave until some time in May. Oh well, small steps in the right direction I suppose. I'm both excited and nervous at the prospect.

Now I have to tell the wife and she didn't want me to have one

Although the only TI I have is my SRP limited edition , I think you made a good choice , and I don't think you can go wrong having it honed by Lynn . While you wait for it to arrive , learn as much as you can about shaving with a straight . Good luck with your new adventure into straight razor shaving !
