    Default I'm so excited!

So, I'm actually still waiting for my 'real' razor to arrive. One that's coming to me shave ready and with a strop... But I decided to get another razor to try to learn to hone and strop while I'm waiting.

I'll admit, thus far I've only managed to take the razor for very dull to the point where it will shave the hair off my arm with only a little tugging, still very far away from the point where I'd want to run it over my face, but still! I'm so excited! I actually managed to take a razor and make it sharper than it was! It's not worse, it's better! Of course, it's the hard work that I haven't done... but I choose to ignore that fact.

I tried running it over my dry cheek, just for giggles to see if it would actually cut a hair or two, which it uncomfortably did. But I must admit, the learning curve on this is going to be much steeper than I thought. I had a really hard time figuring out how to see past my own hand to see the angle I was holding the razor on. :P

Somehow though, that's only made me more excited for my shave ready razor.

Congrats on the honing! My respects, as I have yet to tackle that monster! Just enjoying the shave at this point.

    Keep us posted!

OH, and the "seeing past the hand" thing will definitely fade. Just wait till you try being ambidextrous.
