Default First Shave--I think I'm in love

I finally plunkered down the money to buy a straight razor from The Art
of Shaving. Its a Theirs-Issard Carbon Steel blade if that means anything
    to anyone

For the first hour, I had no idea what the heck I was doing, nothing
    really happened...just some frustration.

But man, when I finally figured out that I had to angle the blade towards
my face , those whiskers just start flying everywhere! Freakin awesome!

So, an hour and half later, (an hour for learning mind you), I've got
myself an ultra-smooth shave, a blade that is a million times more
manly and durable than those pansy disposables, 3 little nicks, and some
    razor burn....

    YEAH!!!

Don't know why we ever start using those plastic things...

    Welcome to SRP.

I'm kinda new here, but sounds like you're on your way to really enjoying a morning (or evening) chore

Welcome to SRP, and congrats on the first shave. Feels a million times better, and more relaxing, to do it the old-fashioned way!

Also, did you get the pre-honed option from TI? Regardless, you might actually consider sending it out to one of our local honemiesters. THEY can make your blade uber-sharp, and it will be a shaving experience like no other.
