    Default I accept bleeders

    YEP!!!
I accept the fact that I may get cut while shaving with a str8...
Dang it all!!! I just had a really fine feeling shave BUT...
While I was focusing on using my off hand I "bumped" into my cheek..
    How dumb can I be?????
    NAH! It happens...

    It's inevitable that I get cut...NOT badly...
AND it is happening less with each shave. I was trying out a new angle to shave a difficult area under my jaw line WITH MY OFF HAND...
I am VERY pleased with how I am including the off hand into my shaving..

I used a plain wood handle synthetic brush with a dollop of OXFORD shave cream. I suspect that OXFORD is on the lower end of the price range but I was pleased with the shave.
    - No preshave material.
    - Hot wash
    - OXFORD cream lathered up nicely with some noname brush
    - Straight razor NAGIN ESPE 6/8
    - Alum block..lots of gliding with it tonight
    - Corn Huskers Lotion. Use it for every shave
    - Floids Italian in a spray dispenser from WalMart $0.50
    - Creed ORIGINAL VETIVER EDT. In a sample vial. Just dabbed on seven areas.

Lots of experience to be gotten yet in the world of straight shaving.
I'm straight shaving more often than I DE nowadays.

I'm still lookin forward to shaving with "THE ONE" lather..be it cream or soap

I feel SO lucky. As I have not cut myself once with my razor since I started. Am I doing it wrong or something? LOL

I have been shaving with a straight for about two weeks. And still no nicks, Ok one small cut when my three year old started screaming in the middle of my shave. I do not think either of us is doing it wrong. In My case I am simply not chasing the BBS yet. I figure my shave is getting a little closer every time sooner or later I will get there. Until then I can live with 5 oclock shadow early.

Not everybody needs a bbs shave. I have been straight shaving for 10 months now and I still have not achieved a bbs shave in every place. Once in a while I BBS my cheeks and a couple parts of my neck. I stopped chasing it. The hair on my face grows in collicky patches which means different directions of growth to shave all over. So it just ain't happening for me. I can live with that though. The shaves are still better than I ever would have thought and they last me through the day, sometimes longer. So I stopped chasing the BBS a long time ago. I suspect that if I really dedicated hours of shaving education to myself I may get one but for now I just think what I do is good enough.

I've been shaving with a str8 for about two
weeks now. Yesterday was the first time
I didn't get any NEW cuts. I freshened up an
old one, but no new ones.

Well gentlemen, Seems I spoke too soon. I found out two thing tonight while shaving.

    1. Rage against the Machine is not shaving music.

    2. Razor cuts hurt like ****!

So do I get to join the bleeders club?
