I don’t think it holds a hone, at least not a full-sized one. You could probably modify the design to fit something the size of a barber hone.

Hey butterbean, I also travel frequently for work. I usually take just one straight razor (well, I'll take two if I'm gonna be gone for more than a week or so) and a leather strop. I have a 3" strop at home that I use daily, and a smaller, shorter 2" strop that works fine for travel. I can either pack it flat or roll the strop but I prefer it packed straight. I keep my strops leather-conditioned and they work fine. Like some of the others who wrote, I used to take a stone along but never used it so finally quit packing it after a few years! I hone my razors myself when they need it, and it seems to work fine. I also pack a synthetic brush and lather. The synthetic brush dries quickly (and isn't expensive) so if something does happen to it on the road I'm not losing much. Safe travels!

I just saw redtruck's post, I agree, looks like a great solution! I currently use a roll up cloth storage pouch and also have individual leather storage/travel pouches that I got from SRD, those are excellent for travel and pack small, easily fit into my travel shave kit. I put a small amount of my preshave oil into a 3 oz container so I don't have to bring the whole bottle, and also have a tiny dropper container of light machine oil to coat the razor when I'm finished shaving. Protects the edge, especially while traveling.

Here’s another that is a double-sided strop as well as holding a razor.
