    Default Castle Forbes

Im a few months into SR shaving and I think I've finally gotten the hang of bowl lathering. I'm able to work up think pasty lather with Wholly Kaw or DR Harris. I can't seem to do the same with Castle Forbes. The lather is rather thin no matter how hard I work it. Is it me?

What I have come to realize is different soaps require various amounts of water to produce a rich lather ( may just be me ). I've recently began using Castle Forbes and found if I use very little water to start ( maybe 1 tsp) in your scuttle and add water as you progress it works better. The addition a water is by quickly passing your brush under the faucet . With Forbes it takes very little soap ( pinky nail ) to make a good lather. My view : it's easier to add water than soap.

Hope all that made sense .

C.F. dont take much soap or water to have lots of lather. And a thick paistie lather is not what i enjoy. A very wet frothy lather works better for me. With the extra water you can het the slickness left over on the skin after the pass.

I remember having a CF cream quite a time ago and I had a similar experience

I'm still enjoying D R Harris creams though

If it's pasty then you used too much soap and not enough water. , keep adding water 2-3 drops at a time and keep working it. It should be like cool whip. Tc
