    Default Razor honing locally?

Hey guys, I'm really excited to join this community. Just got my first straight in a few days a go (henckles) and I'm excited to use it. I've gotten to work on restoring it, but I'm having one issue, it's as dull as anything, I have to saw through hairs. My strop is coming in soon, but I'm afraid that won't be enough. Does anyone know of a (Hopefully cheap) service in the southeast United States (North Alabama) that could hone my razor? Thanks all!

I cannot think of anyone who hones close to there.
I am certain someone will come along with an answer.

Lots here hone razors for a reasonable fee via the mail.

If you cannot find anyone local, PM me and I will recommend someone.
Just don't take it to the folks who sharpen scissors, knives, and saws!

ya first thing is put your location in your profile,, then if anyone is close they will contact you ,, but as Tom has said,, a competent hone guy is as close as your mailbox,, and thats safer than anyone local. better trust us on that. Tc

I don't know of anyone local to you, but it will probably need a complete a bevel set. There are honers listed in the classifieds.

As others have said the entire lower 48 is one post office package away.
Use a fixed price Priority box and when you wrap the blade use a roll
wrap of bubble wrap fixed with rubber bands or string or even blue painters
    tape But not scotch tape.

I wonder if there is a sticky on packing... the issue has come up before.

Do insure for an honest price and do track.
