Welcome to SRP. Well there is the SRP classifieds where you'll find razors from low, medium, to high priced. These are posted by members who say whether they are shave ready. A German company, Revisor, sells vintage new old stock razors, as well as their current offerings.

Straight Razor Designs carries various German razors, hones them to shave ready, and offers a second honing free of charge when the time comes. They also support this forum.

What Jimmy said. You can count on a "Shave Ready" blade from the classifieds here on the forum. BTW Welcome, make yourself at home.

Straightrazordesigns. Fair and honest shave ready new. Revisor is nice as well. I really like Wacker but have yet to receive one shave ready though it was claimed.

I found a new hen and rooster SR at one of the online shops and since I am somewhat new to SR I need advice on the brand how would you rate the above on a scale of 1 to 10 . 1 would be junk and beyond that good and so on I really feel like home here a very good feeling.

    thank you again

Never heard of hen and rooster brand. Thiers Issard makes one with a hen and rooster etched which would be a quality brand. Solingen on the shank is usually a good sign of old German razors.

If it is marked Made in Solingen it is probably good. If not, it is made in Spain last I heard, and the reviews are not good. The old vintage H&R were as good as it gets, but that goes way back.

EDIT ........... I clicked on the link above. The photo provided shows a razor marked 'Made in Solingen' on the belly of the blade, while the description to the right of the photo reads 'Product of Toledo Spain.' I'd stay away from that.
