    Default First Straight razor.

Hi everyone, I'm new here and to SR shaving. In fact I haven't even got my first razor back from being honed yet. It should arrive on this coming Tuesday to get honed and once it is done it will get shipped back. It's a Antoni Tadross hollow ground SR and it was sent to gssixgun to be set to shave ready condition. I still need to get a strop so when it gets back I can keep it in good shape. I've been shaving with safety razors for about 2 months now, and want to try straights. Wish me luck as I'm planning on my first SR shave by my Birthday on 6/27.

Welcome to the forum and Happy Belated Birthday? If Glen is going to look after your blade it will come home shave ready.
    Enjoy.

Oh I know, you can buy quality or you can end up buying quantity. My razor should come back shave ready so I should be able to get a few shaves off it before I'll have to strop it I hope. and am looking in to one of Adams (Drygulch's) strops.

I read the article about denim but not sure about it. There are mixed remarks about it.

You really should strop between shaves. Leave it too long and stropping won't bring it back completely

OK thanks, well I'll have to come up with something before I start using it.
