Thread: The journey begins!!!!

So following Lynn's advice, especially rule #8: you still got bills to pay, I have worked some OT and now the order is in at SRD!!!

Now that's not all but apparently not all of my OT hit this pay cycle which makes me 😢😢😢 actually 😠😠😠 but hopefully I will shaving with a SR next week. Let's hope I can remember the other rules..... like shaving the whole face the first time is a big no no... not making any promises on that one. Very excited!!!!

It's all going to depend on that first cheek.. no cuts and I am going to get brave. I will probably go until I draw blood.... isn't a Donald job unless we draw blood!!!!

If you work at being comfortable with handling the razor on the straight aways before getting into the tricky curves it generally makes for less blood, and definitely less rash and irritation.

Hehehe. If I recall correctly my first SR shave, I did a full three pass shave, +"the fool's pass"!

Any blood or irritation was still better than what I got from cartridges and goo before I found SRP.

I also did full two passes on my first shave... I enjoyed it too much to stop :]
Just be mindful, and free up some time on your first shave. and remember - you're bound to make mistakes! so don't fret over a little blood, an unsuccessful shave, a nick on your strop or poor lather...
It's a learning curve, and it's part of the fun :]

Thanks guys!!! yes I will barricade myself in the bathroom and this will happen at night or before bed (I work all different shifts) when I have time.... the only people that will be there is Lynn from SRD and/or Geo Fat Boy from SN......On you tube that is!!!! Yup I watch those videos ALOT!!!!!

I'm hoping that Lynn's paddle strop will help with that!!!! ordering the English bridal in a few weeks...

I just started straight razor shaving a couple of weeks ago.

I will honestly say that I didn't cut myself or nick my strop until I felt like I was getting the hang of it. Once I started getting confident, out came the blood. Slice went the strop. And I was horrified to find myself turning my razor over on its edge while stropping once. Fortunately, it was a bad pass that I didn't apply pressure on so I didn't ruin the edge, but still...
