Thread: Ram's Horn, logo less razor for noob $300

I want to buy a razor, use it the rest of my life and never buy another razor again.

I want the razor to be 1. forgiving (less prone to accidents) 2. precise (for shaping) and 3. Easier to hone
In that order.

I want the scale to be rams horn and the whole thing to be logo less and ideally with the option to monogram.

What are my options?
I'm looking to spend maybe $300.

As far as I know the only production razors that come in ram's horn are some of Thiers Issard's models, of course you could get any razor and have it rescaled.

If the shared experiences of the members here are anything to go by you'll be buying razors by the boatload in a year or less.

What is your experience with straight razors and what do you mean “Forgiving, less prone to accidents?”… it’s a straight razor…

Welcome to SRP. +1 on Theirs-Issard for a factory razor with Ram's horn scales. The scales will be logoless, but the blade will not. Unless you go custom, which would probably be more money, the only logoless razor you're likely to find will be of lower quality. People who make high quality blades put their name on them.

Yea, but some are more forgiving then others. I'm new at this, but that much is true.

Forgiving and straight razor don't really go together.
Stay away from Spanish points I guess.
Why rams horn ,if I may ask.
I have a T.I rams horn , v nice but kinda looks like plastic to me.
If I could only have one blade for life it would have to be Wade & Butcher, 6/8th upwards.

Hi and welcome. I would suggest starting with a much cheaper razor so you don't have any newb mistakes damage a good razor. Pick one up in the classifieds here. As said a round point mid size razor and learn with that. If cared for properly you can sell it for pretty much what you pay for it. Then you have time to find a lifetime razor and you could keep the starter razor for when it needs honing or if damaged.

This is the best advice you could get. I highly suggest you heed it.
