Default First shave with a straight.

Got my sight unseen and my poor mans strop. Carefully stropped, warmed face with towel, whipped up some Williams, and successfully shaved both cheeks to the jawline with no trouble, and no blood. Touched up the rest with a DE. Step one!

thanks to everyone for the incredible wealth of info on the site. Part of my success for sure.

    That's a very good start.
Go slow and clean up with the razor you are familiar with until you are more familiar with the straight.

And stop rubbing your face so much!

Congratulations. 3 below zero this morning in North Dakota and there is nothing better at these temps than getting out of the shower and into a cozy warm shave den for a relaxing shave.

You did it right, no need to rush and try to do your whole face! Just take it slow and enjoy the journey. Before you know it you will be thinking about different grinds to try and comparing blade widths
