Thread: First + Second Shave Failure

If you'd like to PM me for my address, I'll be glad to evaluate your razor and hone it for free. It would be out of your hands for probably less than a week and you will have eliminated the razor as an issue as well as having a solid foundation for learning to shave with it.

Thanks everyone, I think I have my answer. I believe the issue is my blade isn't sharp enough to be refreshed easily by an 8K stone.

That said, my barber does straight razor shaves with a self-honed blade. (legally, he probably shouldn't but he is old school.) I know that blade is sharp, as I got a shave last month. I think I'll go see if he'd be willing to hone mine for a price.

All good advice above. I would like to add, don't go ATG until you have mastered WTG & XTG. Enjoy the ride.
