Sad cause I don't thinks I will ever be able to get my neck shaved with a straight. Any videos out there with anyone shaving east to west or west to east with a straight. If I could just get my neck I'd have it down.

Stop obsessing with the East West thing. With the shape and contour of my neck I wouldn't even think about trying it. You have gotten some good advice here and since it has only been about a month just keep on practicing.

I decided I'd try a little but not be too worried about my neck. I never have gotten it super close. I had a decent one with a shavette but still a little gritty. My cheeks though like butter. That's what matters most anyway. The more I try for super close on my neck the more I slice my neck up. I look like I attempt suicide every other day.

My cheeks are relatively flat compared to my neck so the angle of the blade doesn't have to change much. When I come off my cheek around my jaw and down to my collar bone there is a heck of a variation of topography. I have a big change in the twist of my wrist to keep the blade at a proper angle.

If you find that the razor is too long you might try like I sometimes do----> For the first two passes I shave with a straight razor, for the third pass I will switch to a shavette which has a shorter blade.
