I see that you are in Iowa and only 3.5 hours from my house. If you ever feel the need to drive north, or if you want some help with honing, you are welcome to come to my house. With a little advanced notice I probably can get Randy to come down from St Paul as well.
I truly appreciate you offer and I am definitely interested just have to find spare time. I don't seem to have much of that lately to get away and do anything. But I thank you for your generous offer and in the future I would enjoy the opportunity to meet with a couple fellas that know what is going on so to speak.

I've made some adjustments to my routine over time. I've stopped using preshave oil, as I've found it no longer provides any benefit. I don't always shave immediately after showering, although that's still my preferred process and makes things most comfortable.

There's nothing wrong with experimenting to see if you can cut out unnecessary steps in your process; it helps you understand what you can do on days when you may have less time, or if something isn't contributing anything to your shave, whether that's just pleasure or comfort or closeness. If it has no impact on any of those things, it may be worth dropping out. On the flip side, it also can show you what parts are necessary to achieve those things.
