    You want the razor to be extremely sharp. If your touch is properly light, just shaving the cream, the hair will come with it. If your blade is more dull, you'll experience tugging, and the shave will be less comfortable. Also, you'll be inclined to press harder against your skin, which will increase your chances of a cut and will most likely lead to razor burn.

    Focus on technique and you'll be fine.

    Mix up & apply a good slick lather.
    Put razor spine on your face & lower edge to contact your skin. Make a short stroke.
    Don't worry about 30º the inbuilt 16º wil work just fine for now. Worry about the other 14º when you have more confidence.
