I would say you are busy learning one shave at a time how to strop, refresh a blade, keep it light in the hand and on the skin, prep for a shave the best you can, lather well and figure out skin stretching for your beard pattern. If you're not bleeding a puddle in the sink every day then you probably are doing everything right. It takes a while for all the pieces to fall in place. Plus, under the jaw is tough for most people - more practice, sharp and more stretch will get you there better than more passes.

    Keep at it!

If you're healthy you should have plenty of time to figure it out. I guess it took me about 20-30 shaves @45-min each to feel good about results, another 100 or so @30-min each to wonder what my problem was and maybe 150-200 more under 15-minutes to become very pleased with the shaves. I'd say patience, making small slow changes if something isn't working and really learning how to keep a blade sharp wins the game sooner or later. Have fun in the meantime as you watch your skills improve, right?

Slow and steady wins this race! Be patient. Just take your time, enjoy your shaving and BBS will come when you least expect it. If you try too hard you'll just end up with frustrated with a sore neck!

I've only been at this a couple months myself, but it does get better! About two weeks ago is when everything started falling into place and my shaves started getting super comfortable. I'm almost getting to the BBS point, but I'm not gonna rush it. It's simply too enjoyable to rush through!
