    Default Thank you PaulKidd!

Drove out to Rohnert Park today so PaulKidd could school me on straight shaving. Now I have two razors, a strop, soaps, bowl, some aftershave, and I forget what else. I did not know that a blade was thinner than a needle! I went with both sideburns to start, and will get my neck later at some point. Might have to let it grow out for a few more days until I get back home where my safety razors are. I have a couple of bumps that I'm not comfortable passing a straight razor over just yet. It was fun learning the honing and stropping process, and then the shave.

The most important lesson I learned today was respect. You can't get careless while shaving, sharpening, nor storing.

    I'll post pics later...

    A very valuable lesson.

Never take your eye off that blade. Bad things will happen.

    Great looking pieces.

Shave number two a few hours ago. I went with two passes on the sides of my face(With and across) and one pass on my neck. I'm right handed, so getting the left side of my neck is slow right now.

Shaved with the 5/8 this morning for the first time. I love it. It's lighter, and feels just right using it. Two passes on my face and neck, smooth. Not comfortable trying my mustache yet, so I'm growing it out for now.
