    Talking Got a couple coming

    Howdy again folks

After searching around and asking some family members for information I have learned I not only have the slim adjustable coming from Stove but I also have a 46-47 Aristocrat, a Type N Schick Injectable and a type G4 Injectable coming from my mother. I am stoked. I have also combed the thrift stores locally and found a SS and a red cap. I think the lingo is right. This is a fun little hobby.

Here are some links to the razor pics.

I also cheated. I borrowed a Merkur 38C from a friend and tried the shave. Don't really like to slickness of the razor handle on that thing and am hoping that the knurls on the handle of the slim and the aristocrat will be a little better. If not I will put some kind of rubber on the handle to pieces grip.

You have a good assortment of razors coming. I think out of the bunch the Aristocrat should turn out to be the nicest shaving one. They are one smooth shaving DE.

Do you think I should start with the Slim set at 2 and just up the number once a week until i figure out which is best? Also, I am using the Van Der Holden soap and I think it might not be very good. Where can i get some good stuff without having to wait for it to be shipped?

Nothing wrong with waiting for good soap , it's only a couple days ,no more than a week , then you can get some better stuff, or drive a few hours there are soap makers in Texas ,, Sterling is in Killian, and that place in Strawn tx. Tc

Dude those look great, cleaned up well. The Gillette handles are deeply knurled and easy to hold on to. The schicks are plastic or bakelite. The plastics ones are grippy, don't know about the bakelite handles.
I was issued a plastic handle schick at parris Island. I don't remember having any issues with it. Shower time was absolute mayhem. 65 guys shaved and showered in about 5 minutes. There was 4 or 5 guys to a shower head or sink. We all got good shaves despite the madness. I know that for a fact, we were inspected.
I'm surprised no one bled to death.
