Default New SR user here, completely loving this wealth of information

As a chef with a healthy disorder collecting fine cutlery and chasing the finest edge possible, the transition to SR shaving was only a matter of time. I would like to thank all of the elders of this forum for bringing this information together and also creating a community of like minded edge whetters.

Welcome. Very friendly place with much good advice from experienced people and in the library. Enjoy learning this fun hobby.

If not for the awesome people giving advice on this website, I would have bailed on straights early. Took a few months of mentoring, but almost a year in now and loving it.

Wow, if you like chasing the finest edge, you are in for a world of fun. Razor honing is so far beyond knife honing, both in the fine nature if the edge and in the way slicing whiskers on your face is way more critical than slicing produce!

    Have fun and ask questions!

Although I am not a chef I can relate to your love of chasing an edge. That's what sealed the transition from shavettte to straight for me. Welcome.
What a curse be a dull razor; what a prideful comfort a sharp one
