Your choice was a killer one. What a great price you got, I didn't think they had one that cheap but I'm not surprised because they have the best prices I know of. I think I might buy a similar one even though I have plenty of straight razors. I have made several orders from them including the large Mastro Livi loom strop. I love that strop a lot. When you decide to get hones, they have the best prices on those too. You can't go wrong. You got a good strop already so I hope you have been watching the honing videos on here as well. Then when you feel comfortable, you can buy your hones. I'm glad for you that you broke the ice & bought you a straight from SRD. Keep up the good work!!!

That's exactly what I started with and I did ruin the edge right off the bat (dropped it) . They fixed it even though it was repair and not a normal honing with no additional charge. SRD didn't have to do that, and I appreciate how accommodating they were. The strop is fantastic and the blade shaves like a dream. It's a great value and an awesome store.

I went with them for my first razor (a dovo). I wish now I had upgraded my strop but I am happy with the one I received. Good company and I'm glad I went with them for my first purchase. I've been a customer several times since then , always good service and fast shipping.

i started with this razor and i hurt the edge pretty fast. i just used the crox to get it back to shave ready. haven't used the certificate yet.
With the spray, wouldn't I need another strop too?

I made a suggestion the other day to a fellow to, 1 take his time and 2 let his wife know when he was shaving so she doesn't holler your name out and startle you, or sling the door open and startle you that way. Anyway I hope you have a great time with it and please say how the Faust does. I have wanted one for a whlie but.... anyhow, be safe.
Thanks Lane - I will let you know how badly I shave with it to start . And usually, when shaving now with the DE, I have the door to the bedroom closed and usually get my zen time pretty nicely.

Yeah . . . debating on the honing thing . . . but one thing at a time. Goal #1 - don't slice throat COMPLETELY open. Goal #2 - get better shaves. Goal #3 - look back up from the bottom of the rabbit hole and spend a bunch of money on shave stuff . . .

You would need another strop, possibly one with a fabric side to it.

You can paste the inside of the linen/webbing/felt with crayon/paste/spray. Check out Lynn Abrams video on refreshing a razor
