Same experience, had been SR shaving for about 8 months and thought I could do it all.
One night on the bourbon with the guys I said "hey look what I can do".
It will always end in tears & blood, your mates in tears laughing and me with a tissue to my face stemming the blood......Txshooter38 likes this.A good lather is half the shave.

Don't shave angry.
Shaving after workout or heavy physical stress can lead to shaking=no go! This goes for caffeine as well.
Don't be afraid to shave dry.
Don't be afraid to shave without a mirror.
Never shave rushed.
When in doubt, STOP! --No dishonor in going to the DE or a cartridge, if you must.

Never just put your razor down...always place your razor in a safe place, free from anything that will cause it to drop, whether on you, the faucet or the floor.
