Thread: Seeking knowledge

So forums in general are new to me so if I'm not doing this right please let me know. I just bought some straight razors from a garage sale and I was looking to find out more about them. I want so restore them, but not if they are rare or unique. I was wondering if anyone could tell me about them. Both are hard to read, but one says "B: Rob"...(can't make out the rest I think it's robertson) on the spine and "spain" with what looks like an "A" and a heart on the side. The other says (at least what I can make out) "cha J. Healy Sheffield" and "champion" on the blade. If anyone could help I would appreciate it!

Welcome to SRP. As earcutter suggested, post photos of your razors. Preferably open so we can see the condition, and advise you on whether they are worth the time/expense of restoring. Newguy, as the other gentlemen have suggested, photos will help us determine the condition of your razors. You'll be amazed at the extent of razor knowledge on this forum, to which you are welcome.

That straight on the right with the straight scales is from the 1700's and the scales look to be horn but could also be tortoise, hard to tell from the pictures. Any chance of getting some close up shots?
