Thanks MrMagnus! I sent it to "KnivDoktorn" in Malmö. And also got it back just 1 hour ago. He edged it and now it's sharper than before. Very nice work of him. He told me that he had some experience with honing straight razors. I could tell that he was very astonished by the razor By the way, here is his website -> Knivdoktorn

    Welcome, nice razor.

Yes, do check on how your razor will be honed. It should be honed by hand on a progression of fine razor stones.

If anyone wants to put it near a machine, find a proper razor honer, especially with that lovely razor.
    Enjoy

Hi & welcome to SRP. Yo idid great on your first purchase. I don't think you could have done any better considering. You can try the hanging hair test to see if it is sharp enough but first see if it will shave any arm hair. If it does then try the hanging hair test. You don't want to try iy on your face until you know for sure it will shave. It would be a good idea to send it out to a reputable honemiester that can hone it for you. Also it is a good idea to have a spare for when you do send one out for honing. Lynn is an excellent honemiester but he has plenty of customers ahead of you & you need yours back asap so I would look in the classifieds & see if there is reputable person that does honing who can have a quick turn around for you. I know being new to this you will have a hard decision finding the right person to do your honing but research them. Also it would be a great idea if you bought Lynn's dvd. It tells you a lot about everything you need to know bought straight razors & he also shows you how to hone on there. It is definitely a worthwhile investment & soon you might be able to purchase your own honing stones from Straight Razor Designs who is pretty competitive & has good prices. Invest in a strop. Yo will need that to strop your razor before & after using. He also shows how to use one on his video. Get the video, send your razor out for now to get it honed. You might ask questions on here who would be a good person to send it to who has a quick turn around but you definitely need the video since it is quite informative about a lot of things plus at the end he has a lot of links to vendors for supplies & such. You won't go wrong buying the video. Here's a link to the dvd right here:

    You can't go wrong.
Here's a link to people on here who do honing:

    Good luck in your ventures!

You need to get it to a straight razor user that knows how to hone. It wan't honed properly. Contact MrMagnus, he will help.
