    Cool New purchase today.

So a while back I posted I am going to give SRS another try. This time more patience and research involved. So last week bought a SRD modular paddle strop. This week I committed to Thiers-Issard "Special Coiffeur" 6/8 Carbon Steel. Can't wait also got a shaving mug and badger hair brush. So happy to be back hopefully everything goes well this time around.

You've got great equipment. I can't tell you how much pleasure I get from straight razor shaving and I hope that you'll enjoy it as much as I do.

I have a vintage Thiers-Issard "1938 Special Coiffeur" 5/8" that I only finished up last weekend and shaved with for the first time on Wednesday

I agree with David. The modular strop has given me so much more flexibility in my routine, that i've managed to get better shaves than ever. I think it's the best idea since sliced bread!

So today was my first shave day. The modular paddle strip worked great but I am a little confused with the different options I have. I understand that the smooth leather is last thing I strip on but what about the rough leather and the felt. The razor I used was an antique henkle which was advertised as shave ready but I don't think it was cause it was pulling quite a bit while shaving. But on a positive note the shaving soap and cream combination made probably the best lather I have ever made. Also I shaved most of my face except the goatee area with no Knicks or cuts. I finished my goatee area with my mach 3 and ironically knicked myself.

If you go to YouTube and search for SRD modular paddle strop, Lynn has a video on how to use it for various purposes.
