Thread: baby face

In that it has never felt the edge of a straight razor.

I have a 5/8 Wade & Butcher with "50" etched on the tang perpendicular to the trademark.

It needs some TLC, for which I do not feel qualified. Any suggestions for a vendor to provide renovation/honing would be greatly appreciated.

The edge has some corrosion on both sides, and the back shows evidence of prior uneven honing; otherwise seems in decent shape. The scales also are in good shape and seem to be of a black plastic-like material.

Welcome. SRD do a great job. I've had them hone a few of mine. Honing is truly an art form.

I look forward to learning the art. Not great w/other edged tools, so plenty of opportunity for enlightenment.

In the meantime, I'll have to get my razor right by someone who knows what they're doing.
