Ta. The one with maple scales was made by Maxi.

It seems to work.

The outrageous tail is, as afar as I can tell, pretty useless though cool looking; though that would depend on how you hold a razor. I use a three fingered grip with all my razors, with only one finger on the tail (as shown). The De Pews is a little hard to strop.

Sorry to be getting off topic Mike, Ed is ALWAYS off topic, and I tend to be bad that way too, so when we get together the thread can go just about anywhere... You wait, in a few posts we'll be talking about whether one should apply polish to one's boots AND buff using just one brush OR if one should use an application brush AND a buffing brush, and, indeed, if one should use a buffing CLOTH and if so, what type is best?
I didn't think i was getting too far off topic, but in response, i use one brush to apply my polishes, and a piece of synthetic fleece to buff, and i am a 4 finger grip man

No, Ed, I was getting off topic this time

I've been using one brush to apply and buff lately. Stockings are good for buffing...

Back on topic today I have been told by the mighty one (aka the other half, mother of my daughter) via a text while I was at work to "stop buying razors Mike that's 4 in 4 days its just silly". In all fairness she is probably right but eBay is just soooo tempting with those cheep old razors. I didnt have the heart (OK OK the balls) to tell her 3 more should be coming next week he he. Out of the 4 I would say 2 are savable, 1 is quite frankly junk and 1 I'm not sure about.

That first one though (and the one I did actually pay the most for) is an absolute belter, apart from a bit of rust on the spine and tang its in pretty good condition and no visible wear to the spine. I think I just got lucky really.

Anyway I think for the time been 7 old razors that need work is enough to keep me going and if I buy any more I suspect one might be used to remove my testicals

Change it up a bit and start buying some hones, soaps, etc.

Switching it up on SWMBO might be advantageous.

I was going to mention soaps and creams, they were my achilles heel for a while, then i bought a set of hones, but i could justifiably say that it is a once off investment.

Hmmm I do already have a fairly extensive collection of hones due to my knife obsession but soaps and creams are something I could see myself getting into. Good plan, next text will be "Mike stop buying soap you have a box full its getting silly" I suppose though a good thing about soap is that it does get used up unlike razors and hones which will only get bigger and bigger and never get used up !
